Vanessa, Paula, Jonathan and Victoria from Year 6 attended the Sydney Youth Writing Competition Presentation Night on Tuesday the 25th of November, the presentation was held at Parliament House. All four were finalists in the short story or poetry sections of the competition.
Over 3,000 students entered the competition from around Australia and Hong Kong, with four of our students making up the 250 finalists who were selected.
Vanessa, Paula and Jonathan received commended awards for their short stories and Victoria received a highly commended award for her poem.
The students also visited the Catholic Education Office on Friday the 28th of November to share their achievements with Executive Director of Schools, Greg Whitby.
Congratulations to all four of these students - we are very proud!

📜🏛️ Our Year 3 students stepped back in time on an excursion to Hyde Park Barracks and the Museum of Sydney! They explored early Australian history as part of our Community and Remembrance unit. Students learned about Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples before European arrival, the impact of settlement, and life as a convict. Did you know that Jesus first revealed His Sacred a heart to our Patron Saint, St Margaret Mary Alacoque, instructing her to devote the first Friday of every month to His Sacred Heart! ❤️🔥 The first image is a sacred icon of Jesus, His heart glowing with divine light and crowned with thorns. This is known to be an eternal symbol of love, sacrifice, and mercy.
