St Margaret Marys Feast Day

07 Nov 2018

Look out, it’s a massive colour cloud!

On Tuesday, 16th October, St Margaret Mary's celebrated it’s feast day. We had a whole day of celebrations planned, and we couldn’t wait for it to begin! In the morning, we joined as a community to celebrate Mass and pray to St Margaret Mary to guide us and protect us. During the Mass, we reflected using words, song and dance.

After the Mass, we were invited to have recess with our families before the most exciting part of the day - the Colour Run! Lots of the P&F and parents helped splash colour and water on us as we ran around the winding course. Lots of people wore wacky accessories and everyone had so much fun getting covered in colour, especially Mr Mills who looked like a walking rainbow!

In the last hour of the day, Year 5 raced the colourful billy carts that they have been making over the last term. Everyone was cheering and it was really fun. We would like to thank the P&F for all of their planning and organisation of the day and thank you to all the children who raised money for the new shade structure that will be built. We will remember this day for a very long time!

📜🏛️ Our Year 3 students stepped back in time on an excursion to Hyde Park Barracks and the Museum of Sydney! They explored early Australian history as part of our Community and Remembrance unit. Students learned about Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples before European arrival, the impact of settlement, and life as a convict. From handling real artefacts to role-playing convict labour, it was an unforgettable, hands-on history experience! 👣✨ #HistoryInTheMaking #HydeParkBarracks #MuseumOfSydney #PrimaryExcursion #CommunityAndRemembrance #LearningThroughExperience

❤️‍🔥 Feast of the Sacred Heart of Jesus ❤️‍🔥 Today we celebrate the deep and burning love of Christ for all humanity. Did you know that Jesus first revealed His Sacred a heart to our Patron Saint, St Margaret Mary Alacoque, instructing her to devote the first Friday of every month to His Sacred Heart! ❤️‍🔥 The first image is a sacred icon of Jesus, His heart glowing with divine light and crowned with thorns. This is known to be an eternal symbol of love, sacrifice, and mercy. The second image is a traditional French devotional image of the Sacred Heart, pierced and surrounded by a crown of thorns, with the words: “Voilà ce Cœur qui a tant aimé les hommes. Il n’est qu’amour et miséricorde!” (“Behold this Heart which has so loved men. It is nothing but love and mercy!”) May His Sacred Heart draw us closer to compassion, forgiveness, and faith.✝️ #FeastOfTheSacredHeart #SacredHeartOfJesus #CatholicFaith #JesusLovesYou #DivineMercy #HeartOfJesus #CatholicArt #SacredIcon #ViveJesus

Earlier this month, our Year 5 and 6 students took part in our Mini Vinnies Winter Sleepout- an eye opening and humbling experience where they learnt about the realities of homelessness. Through prayer, reflection, and hands-on activities like making cards and sleeping on cardboard in the chilly weather, students deepened their understanding of compassion and empathy. 🙏🏼 A huge thank you to the dedicated teachers who stayed late to support and guide our students through this important experience. Your commitment to justice and service is truly appreciated. 💙 #MiniVinnies #WinterSleepout #EmpathyInAction #CatholicSocialTeaching #CSPD2025
